One of the most critical elements in a successful business is their brand identity and the message it communicates when consumers engage it. Is it easy to remember, see, and say? What are the colors? Are they distinct? Whether a startup or a seasoned business these questions should be at the forefront during the branding process. Below is our process for a StartUp.
Define the business. What the mission statement, who is your customer, product or service, brick-n-mortar, online or both, b2b or b2c?
Define the name. The name should be distinct, easy to spell, and remember.
Define the font. Is it retro, modern, classic, elegant, witty, playful, or serious.
Define the color scheme and image. Bold and bright, calm and subdued, or enthusiastic and exciting.
Conduct market research using social media, surveys, polls, contests, and focus groups to obtain feedback.
Develop the brand identity based on information obtained from the market research and human psychology.
